About

From a young age, I spent a lot of my childhood surrounded by nature and wildlife. From looking for frogs and tadpoles in ponds to playing explorer and making dens in the forests, I have always found peace and magic in the natural world. Animals have never failed to make my imagination run wild, feeding through into my love for drawing and illustrated characters.

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a first class degree in Illustration and later graduated from a Masters in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art in 2019. I aim to inspire the younger generations to get outdoors and explore the wildlife around them. By combining my passions for the conservation of wildlife and drawing, I aim to help cause awareness of endangered species through children’s books. As children’s books are aimed for future generations, I believe it is vital to create books that not only encourage children to read for pleasure but to also educate and support them with important and sometimes difficult subjects.

When away from my desk, I love cuddling and playing with my rescue cat Boris as well as enjoying walks in the Peak District with my partner. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and enjoy visiting my family in Bilbao and going on walks in the mountains where I gain inspiration and ideas from my surroundings. An inspiration for a new character is never far away when I join my family on wildlife photography trips both around the UK and Spain in which I spend time observing and sketching different environments and creatures, from beetles and red squirrels to adders, puffins and owls.
